Airlines, air transport operators, the aerospace industry sector and the Republic of Singapore Air Force are the main employers of aeronautical engineering graduates.
By virtue of their training, aeronautical engineering technologists can expect to be involved in jobs in the areas of design and development for aircraft modification, prototype and production testing, aircraft maintenance, quality control, material requirements planning and the supervision of workers.
After working for a few years, some graduates may attain supervisory or higher positions. With the continuing expansion of the aerospace industry sector in Singapore, further job opportunities will be available to aeronautical engineering technologists.
As the Diploma in Aeronautical course curriculum and training are fully aligned to Singapore Airworthiness Requirements, the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) will allow you to sit for its SAR 66 Basic Examinations for the Licensing of Aircraft Maintenance Engineers while still a student. No Polytechnic Course is currently granted exemptions under SAR 66.
